ting and company
until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened
- Anatole France

all for the love of
DONKEYS
We are a forever home for the donkeys who have wandered into our lives. Audrey, Burrito, Cinnamon, Huey, Jellybean, Kirby, Milton, Nana-April, Sadie, Tingalayo, and May-the-one-horse. They have changed our lives, making our world bigger and better. They require us to be present every day. Every single day. They are grateful. And we are too.

Not Just an
Ordinary Love Story
We married in the summer of 2002. May-the-one-horse was with us on our wedding day - along with 6 goats and a whole bunch of cats. Our wedding guests were offered a jar of our maple syrup or a kitten as their wedding favour. Donkeys were not even a figment of our imaginations.
In 2003, Wally got a phone call from his chiropractor asking if we'd be able to take in a donkey since we already had a horse. A family he knew was selling their goat farm and needed a home for their donkey. We said yes without hesitation. We didn't know why.
Fast forward 22 years, 9 donkeys, and 1 hinny and we are officially in love with the fantastic beasts who have come into our lives. We have learned lots along the way and do the best we can every day to give them all a good home and correct care. It's a journey of love. It's our love story.
“That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for.”
- Samwise Gamgee from LOTR

"Some people talk to animals.
Not many listen, though.
That's the problem."
- A. A. Milne
